Entrance is a Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funded project (Grant Number 01IS12056) aiming to deliver a platform for secure and privacy aware exchange of data across distributed networks, such as the Internet. The entrance project has with Telekom Innovation Laboratories and Technische Universität Berlin two major partners. Entrance is a research project under the Software Campus program. The project will last for two years starting from March 2014.
Entrance is a Software Campus project.
To the extent possible, the Entrance project will define and deliver an Open Source Platform for a secure and privacy aware exchange of data. Today, especially common Internet users use several services (eMail, Facebook, Flickr…) in order to share whatever data or information with friends, colleagues or family members. Normally, this is accompanied by a loss of control over this data. Entrance focuses on this disadvantage by using efficient and state of the art technologies and standards in order to give control and management capabilities back into the hands of the data owner. Entrance will utilize Attribute-based Encryption (ABE) in order to provide a data-centric approach for the secured data.
